Electrician

Job Description: The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on construction sites. This role requires a skilled tradesperson with comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, safety procedures, and building codes. A successful Electrician works safely and efficiently, follows specifications precisely, and maintains high-quality workmanship. You will work on diverse construction projects across Kenya, install electrical systems in accordance with Kenya National Building Code requirements, and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to work on professional construction projects and develop your electrical trade skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical wiring, conduits, outlets, and fixtures according to specifications
  • Test electrical systems to ensure proper functioning
  • Repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment
  • Follow Kenya National Building Code and safety regulations
  • Coordinate with other trades on construction sites
  • Maintain tools and work areas safely
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints
  • Install and connect electrical panels and circuit breakers
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical problems
  • Comply with all health and safety protocols on site
  • Document work completed and materials used
  • Train and mentor apprentices

Requirements

  • Technical training in electrical installation or equivalent apprenticeship
  • Valid Kenya professional electrician license or certification
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on electrical installation experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Kenya National Building Code electrical requirements
  • Proficiency in using electrical tools and testing equipment
  • Understanding of electrical safety procedures and OSHA/KEBS standards
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
