IT Support Specialist

Job Description: The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, including cloud services, databases, and cybersecurity systems. This role ensures that all computer systems, networks, applications, and cloud resources are operational and secure, and that end-users receive prompt technical assistance. A successful IT Support Specialist is customer-focused, technically skilled, and proactive in resolving issues. You will manage IT help desk activities, troubleshoot technical problems, support cloud and database infrastructure, maintain security protocols, and support overall IT operations. This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse technologies including cloud platforms, databases, and cybersecurity tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email, and ticketing system
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and cloud infrastructure issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals
  • Support cloud platform operations (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
  • Manage user accounts, access permissions, and cybersecurity protocols
  • Provide network, internet, and cloud troubleshooting support
  • Assist with PostgreSQL database administration and backups
  • Perform security monitoring and threat detection activities
  • Install and update software applications, operating systems, and security patches
  • Maintain IT inventory and asset management records
  • Document technical issues, solutions, and security incidents
  • Provide user training on IT systems, cloud applications, and security best practices
  • Assist with IT security audits and compliance activities
  • Support IT infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, and disaster recovery

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of IT support/helpdesk experience with emphasis on cloud and security
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and basic database administration
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and IT security best practices
  • Experience with network troubleshooting and networking concepts
  • Familiarity with hardware installation, maintenance, and configuration
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies and containerization (Docker)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and common business software
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple support requests and priorities
  • CompTIA A+, Security+, or equivalent certification preferred
  • Interest in AI/ML technologies and emerging IT trends
